A magnificent Jacobean house built between 1605 and 1616. The grounds were landscaped by 'Capability Brown' and include wonderful follies and a Victorian kitchen garden.1 mile W of Saffron Walden on B1383 (from the caravan site drive through Great Chesterford and then take the B1383 through Littlebury.

Audley End Railway - our caravan site is just 4 miles away Audley End Miniature Railway

Just across the road from Audley End House, this is a delightful 1.5 mile ride on Lord Braybrooke's private 10 ¼" gauge steam railway through woodland. Visit website or contact Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre to find out opening hours (Tel 01799 510444). From the caravan site, drive through Great Chesterford and take the B1383 through Littlebury to Audley End House.

The only Norman motte and bailey Castle in the world, re-constructed on its original site. Features animals roaming freely throughout the site (deer, sheep and goats), animated wax figures which speak to visitors, siege weapons, siege towers and much more. 

From the caravan site, drive through Great Chesterford and take the B1383 through Littlebury and carry on until you see signs for Mountfitchet Castle.
